How are cases numbered?

Each case is given a unique number across the system. That number is immediately registered when a reporter fills out a reporter form.

Reasons why interruptions in numbering can be observed:

  • Some reporting forms are neither stored nor forwarded and the case number associated with an unsent case is not reissued.
  • The case has been saved as a draft, but has not yet been submitted. In that case, only the reporter can see the draft case.
  • A case has been registered, but it will only actually start at a later time (there is a possibility to start cases, such as evaluations of improvement measures, in the future.
  • You may not see all cases with your user account, making a gap "seems" from the perspective of your permissions.
  • The case has been removed.
